Desert moss survives the dry season by wasting nothing.

In the high desert, a small moss can lose nearly all its water, go dormant and grey, and wait — sometimes for years. Then the rain comes, and within hours it greens and grows again. It endures not by having more, but by using every drop it's given.

We didn't just name the company after nature. We wrote nature into it.

Desert Moss is built as a business in partnership with the natural world. Our operating agreement gives nature two things: a voice and a share.

A voice. Before any decision that meaningfully affects the natural world — who we work with, how we operate — nature's interests are formally weighed, and we keep a record of how. It's the same principle behind giving nature a seat on the board, built into how this company actually runs.

A share. A fixed portion of every year's profit is pledged to nature-positive work — protecting, restoring, and regenerating the living world. Not a donation we might make. A commitment written into the company's foundation, owed before profit reaches the founder.

Who you'll work with

Founded and led by Andrea Nemer Soto.

She brings fifteen years of sustainability leadership in large, complex organizations and enormous supply chains, with hands-on expertise in assurance-ready footprint measurement, lifecycle assessment, science-based targets, and regulatory disclosure. She holds a master's degree in sustainability and is a LEED Accredited Professional, with advanced training in biomimicry and the Living Building Challenge that informs the firm's nature-centered approach to governance. She is fluent in today's leading reporting frameworks and measurement platforms, and translates complex data into decisions the board can act on. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
